Worden Pond, Rhode Island

by Caroline Brown

This weekend’s volunteer and class activities took me to southern Rhode Island. I’ll blog more about my weekend adventures later, but for now here’s a photo of the windy shore of Worden Pond, the largest natural lake in the state. It’s part of the 3,350-acre Great Swamp Management Area.

It’s amazing to me how much the pond looked like the ocean–the wind was so high, it even had whitecaps.

  1. What a cool photo Caroline! We have waves of wheat here(helped along by lots of wind….), when the wheat is ready to harvest, like a golden sea….your pic. reminded me of that. Look forward to reading more about your weekend activities. BFN, 🙂
